** Sorry, but I just updated to Wordpress 2.8 and have not finished updating somethings so you can see that the pictures in my media box are not quite right as of yet.
This is actually quite easy… and you’ll see why in this short step-by-step list. (By the way… I am creating videos so they are coming.)
First, there is no reason for 99% of Wordpress users to ever worry about uploading Wordpress manually. Using Fantastico which I think every hosting company has or SimpleScripts will work perfects. So relax!
Here’s on paper how to easily install Wordpress:
- Login to your hosting account… most will be cpanel.
- Go into Fantastico and install Wordpress – what’s cool about Fantastico is you can set your password before it’s installed. In SimpleScripts you can’t do that.
- Click the link Fantastico gives you… and login!
Wordpress is installed!
But here are the things you need before you can follow those three simple steps…
- Hosting Account: I recommend Hostgator or Bluehost for shared hosting.
- Domain Name: Google “GoDaddy Promo Codes” and use the results to buy a domain name for cheaper!
And you’re set.
That Easy Really?
I know that was a very simple overview of how to install Wordpress. And I didn’t give you any pictures and no video (remember the video is coming). But it really is that easy… even if you are brand spanking new to this.
I encourage you to struggle through it and make some mistakes because that is the only way you truly will learn a lot of this technical Internet stuff. I hope that helped and leave some comments so we can talk.
