Today I was helping a good friend of mine learn what I consider to be the coolest SEO tool ever…

And I’m not even going to put an affiliate link up. Actually I took a quick look and I don’t think there is an affiliate program… but who knows and who cares.
The simple fact is this tool is the BOMB (80’s throwback) for finding keywords to target for your websites. My friends site is all about organic baby clothes and it’s actually a really kick butt site. But we were finding lots of great keywords and not even tapping the surface yet.

Here are three reasons you need Market Samurai:
Reason #1: Keywords are easy to find
So I’ve pretty much already mentioned this but the MS does so well is allow you to filter on the keywords you have so you can find just want you want. For example… let’s say you wanted the keywords in your niche that got at least 156 searchs a day… had less that 100,000 competing sites… and you wanted to make sure that the use typed in the keyword in that order.
Yeah… you can do that!
And so much more which leads me to reason number two.
Reason #2: Keep laser focus on your sites (and your competitions)
Seriously I have not really messed with this part of the tool yet… but with their Rank Checker you can keep a close eye on your sight. Not only can you know where it is ranking any given time, but you can see how to beat the comp and get up there.
I wish I had more to talk about, but I write these posts pretty impromptu so in this case I got nothing else… I just know it’s kick butt.
Reason #3: Get those link backs
I use this feature a lot. Here’s what you do… you put in your keyword and let MS find blogs, forums, and Web2.0 sites for you to comment on and participate on. This does a few things.
One it helps you with backlinks because you can look only at the sites that pass on the delicious link juice… or you can look at everything.
Two I like to see my competition and what their doing and what their talking about. I actually find some cool people this way and I am hoping some of these will turn into JV partners for one of my other businesses.
Three it also lets you see where there are holes in a market. When you search certain keywords and everything that is coming back sucks beyond glory then you may have stumbled on a good hole. So do some more research to see if filling that hole with good content is worth your time.
Bottom Line…
Market Samurai rules so go buy it. I use it almost everyday. Also be sure to check out their blog because they are always posting cool ways to use the software beyond what you would normally think.
