Resources

Here is a long list of different resources that I use all the time when I need to figure things out. I will try to keep this updated as best I can and group them together whether it’s based on…

  • Tracking
  • Wordpress
  • Joomla
  • Software
  • And more…

These will link to things that I think you should know about, especially when you are a beginning affiliate marketer. And remember that many times the best thing to do is just take the time and try to figure stuff out. You will learn so much by doing that.

Here is my growing list of resources:

Affiliate Link Tracking (PPC & SEO):

These tools are great tools and I have not used them all but many I have. I think they are wonderful though. That is one thing you will notice about my reviews and recommedations… their aren’t that many of them… because I think most stuff out there is crap.

1. Prosper202: This is the one of the best PPC affiliate link tracking services. The best part about this service, besides the fact that it’s incredibly effective… it’s also FREE! That makes ya smile doesn’t it.

The one thing that holds people back from using this solution is not knowing how to install it or use it to track you pay per click campaigns. That is a part of my first product… teaching you everything you need to know to use Prosper202 effectively.

2. StatsJunky: This tracking program is going to be one of the very best on the market. They are new and when I was using them, they seemed to be working out some of the kinks, but I fully intend to go back and use them exclusively soon.

The only problem using StatsJunky as a newbie is they are expensive. So my recommendation for you is to use Prosper202 until you are consistently making money day in and day out.

3. CrazyEgg: This is a really cool, and really different tracking program. If you are using review sites or mini-sites to promote affiliate products, then you need to be using CrazyEgg. It will show you exactly where your visitors are clicking so you can then evaluate where to put different actions on your website.

I recommend this one because it’s only $9 a month. There are other services out their like ClickTale that do this and more, but it’s much more expensive.

Website Building:

Wordpress: Wordpress is by far the best website platform around. And there are so many great Wordpress developers out there that you can make Wordpress a blog or even use it as a CMS (content management system).

There is a small learning curve with Wordpress… but… don’t worry I am going to make a $10 video series that will take you in a detailed step-by-step process from installation to getting a decent blog rocking.

Joomla: Joomla is a little more difficult to use and can do some things that Wordpress can’t. The search engines love Joomla, like they do Wordpress, but you definitely need some more skills to use Joomla. I don’t recommend it right away but I will also be creating a little product showing the details of using this system as well.

I almost forgot to mention… but both Wordpress and Joomla are FREE!

Software:

I need to do some thinking before I recommend different software packages. But I will get this section updated ASAP!
